Government announces salary increase of 19% to the minimum

The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader Corona, this afternoon led a press conference of the National Wage Committee (CNS) in which an increase of 19% was announced to the salary minimum for non-sectorized private employees.

The increase will be divided into two stages: 15% will be effective as of next April and 4% in February 2024.

The Minister of Labor, Luis Miguel De Camps, indicated that, after some six meetings in recent months, this agreement was reached.

Raphael Pepe Abreu indicated that the union of employers, government and union sector has given good results in the salary sector.

Abreu highlighted the treatment and good tripartite dialogue to achieve this objective.

The representatives of the trade union centrals presented a proposal of around 35%.

While Celso Juan Marranzini, president of the National Council for Private Enterprise (Conep) and representative of the employer sector, praised the great understanding that has been reached.

He was satisfied, since this increase also contemplates, in his opinion, the inflationary levels that could occur in 2024.
