BETSSY CHÁVEZ BEFORE JUSTICE

the time has come

The legal situation is beginning to get uphill for the former premier and congressman Betsy Chavez. She is about to be charged for her complicity in the coup but, meanwhile, her other investigations are advancing at the Public Ministry. Yesterday she was questioned at the National Prosecutor’s Office for being the alleged perpetrator of the crime of illicit enrichment as a result of the purchase of a property in Tacna last year. That’s just one of the many investigations that come his way. Now then.

CASTLE IN THE DIROES-I

between mafias

In the pretrial detention hearing against Pedro Castillo for corruption cases, the former coup leader went into mafia mode and practically threatened to “throw out” the congressmen who voted in favor of his constitutional accusation, thanks to which he could now accumulate 36 months more than jail “In any case, (the congressmen) would be part of this alleged (criminal) organization because they went, for the most part, through the offices of the presidential office. A Congress that today does not serve the country and that when the President of the Republic with his Council of Ministers goes to request a budget for the country, they first ask for 500 million soles to be distributed among their benches”. Oops. He better tell the whole story if he doesn’t want to add another crime.

CASTLE IN THE DROES-II

foul with the judge

But not content with it, Castillo also dared to put pressure on Supreme Judge Juan Carlos Checkley. He assured that he was more than sure that Prime Minister Alberto Otárola must have a sheet in his hand with a draft of the preventive detention resolution. And he said it in front of the magistrate that he will be in charge of deciding whether or not to dictate the 36 months against him. Not even three skates got that lacking.

CASTLE IN THE DROES-III

I speak to you from prison

At another time during the hearing, the Prosecutor’s Office argued that Castillo does not have domiciliary ties and that for this reason it is justified to dictate the new prison measure. His lawyer Eduardo Pachas replied by stating that his sponsor did “have a known address and it is the Barbadillo prison.” And well, he better get used to it because a long stay awaits him.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY IN NOTHING

complicit silence

The Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations spent yesterday spreading the events of the minister but not a single critical line about the bullshit of the head of Minedu, Oscar Becerra, who had the barbarity and folly of comparing the Aymara women who were marching with their children with animals. Furthermore, in one of the tweets the sector indicated: “Minister Tolentino was a panelist in the “High-level dialogue on digital violence against women politicians”… The Government should change ministers in these two portfolios, one for being intolerant and the other sexist and another for fixing those bad behaviors.
