Women in technology companies: a still distant parity

Women in technology companies: a still distant parity

The labor market is one of the most unequal places for men and women, not only because female participation is lower, but also because working conditions for women are –almost always– more precarious.

Tech companies are no exception, just Netflix It has gender parity in its workforce.

Close to parity is the real estate rental platform, Airbnbwith 48% female participation among its employees, according to company reports 2021-2022.

Microsoftfor its part, is the technology company with the widest gender gap, only 33% of its employees are women.

Although parity in vacancies does not ensure that women work in equal conditions with their male counterparts, it does represent an important step in the fight for the labor rights of all people.
