The Minister of Security, Hannibal Fernandezaffirmed this Wednesday in Rosario that “It is imperative that we get into each place and get to the bone” in the midst of the wave of drug violence that is going through the city, when the new members of the security forces announced by President Alberto Fernández are put into operation.

“We have brought federal forces to act in each place,” said the minister when putting into operation the new troops that reinforce the Unified Command of the Federal Forces, reaching 1,400 troops in this first stage, accompanied by the governor of Santa Fe, Omar Perotti, the Minister of Security, Claudio Brilloni, the Mayor of Rosario Pablo Javkin and members of the Judiciary.

This Tuesday, the President announced the reinforcement of federal forces for Rosario, as well as the participation of the Army, through the company Ingenieros, for “the urbanization of the popular neighborhoods” of that Santa Fe city plagued by drug trafficking.

“Rosario needs us. I know that your security forces are insufficient to face the solution of the problem“, said the President in a recorded message from the Olivos residence, in which he announced a series of measures for the city.

In his message, the President also announced that Governor Perotti would sign an agreement with the Financial Information Unit (UIF) to set up a branch in Rosario, in order to “have greater efficiency in the fight against money laundering, derivatives between other causes, drug trafficking”.

In this sense, the Minister of Security highlighted the presence of the UIF in Rosario as “fundamental” and called to “follow the route of money to break a rock that does damage and where the most difficult issue walks”, in reference to financing of drug trafficking

“We came to get to the bone and cut with everything that is necessary. We are not going to stop for a single second. This is not a political act, it is the vocation of those of us who are governing,” said Aníbal Fernández and thanked the task of prosecutors and Judges present at the event.

And he added: “I understand the concerns and needs of the governor and the mayor and we are not going to stop until we find solutions because Rosario deserves to be lived.”

Finally, he ratified the accompaniment of the national government to the authorities of the province: “We will continue to come as many times as necessary. I call on you to give your best,” Fernández told the security forces.
