With a new law, motorcyclists will now be able to have better quality helmets

The Ministry of Transportation modified resolution 1080 of 2019 so that the trade can offer better helmets in the country that fit with the regulations of the 1958 United Nations Agreement.

Now, it should be made clear that the resolution does not force users to change helmets. “What it does is eliminate barriers so that these personal protection elements are commercialized in the country with the latest updates, since the current regulation limited this access to users,” explained Guillermo Reyes, Minister of Transportation.

With the new resolution, users will be able to find certified helmets on the market under the R22.06 standard and its subsequent versions, while removing barriers to trade.

Finally, helmets that comply with the regulation must include the indication “no chin protection” on the label in case it is not implemented.
