Sixth day of strike in France against reforms to the retirement age

Judith Pena | March 7, 2023

More than a million workers have come out this Tuesday in France to protest in a new day of strikes that becomes the sixth day, in two months, against the pension reform project that seeks to delay the retirement age promoted by the President Emmanuel Macron.

The union centrals have said that this will be an indefinite strike, which will last for several days.

The massive mobilization still does not have official figures as the police indicate that 1.27 million people have demonstrated, while the General Central of Workers has counted 2.8 million.

On this sixth day, although everything has gone normally, the Police reported that they have arrested 13 protesters in Paris, where the largest number of protesters is concentrated.

The first day of strikes was recorded on January 19, without being able to stop Macron’s project.
