Private Transport joins the rejection of Supreme Decree (DS) 4740, which prohibits the use of tinted windows in all the country. Jhonny Cabrera, leader of this sector, announced mobilizations in case they are not heard by the Government and the norm is not annulled.

“The need to use the rayban (black glass) is part of the experience in Santa Cruz due to the climate”, said Cabrera, who has been practicing this job for nine years and must deal with the high temperatures that are registered in the department.

In addition, the carrier indicated that many times its passengers are executive authorities or people with a skin disease, so it is necessary to have these dark glasses. He stated that his colleagues are scared by the intimidation and extortion of the police.

“We announce in case of not being heard in our fair and legitimate demand, We will initiate the citizen protest measures protected by law aimed at the abrogation of the Supreme Decree for violating constitutional norms and principles”, added Cabrera.

Since last Wednesday, March 1, Supreme Decree 4740 entered into force and immediately began the police controls to remove the dark glasses of offenders.

To avoid the fines of Bs 100, numerous motorized owners chose to remove the dark windows from their vehicles and thus free themselves from one more weight on their economies.

However, it is also known that several people chose to get the authorization to use black glasseswhich some processors offer, in complicity with the police, and which cost between Bs 1,500 and 1,800.

In the last few hours, a TikTok video showing a driver who was stopped by a police officer in the center of the capital of Santa Cruz went viral, since, apparently, his car had black windows, and to avoid the fine showed him the video of the lawyer and ex-prosecutor Jaime Soliz, who warns the public that “It is an unconstitutional rule, that no one can open your vehicle and take out the black windows because the law does not prohibit it”.
