Federal Police arrest suspect of child sexual abuse in Niterói

The Federal Police (PF) launched today (7), in Niterói, in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro, Operation Archangel X. It is to repress the sharing and possession of images in photos and videos with child sexual abuse content. A 38-year-old man was arrested red handed. The police took to the streets to execute a search and seizure warrant, issued by the 2nd Federal Court of Niterói, in a house located in that city.

The investigations – carried out by the Group for the Repression of Cyber ​​Crimes and Child and Adolescent Sexual Abuse at the Federal Police Station in Niterói – led to the opening of a police inquiry. During investigations, members of the Repression Group identified the practice of crimes typified in the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA) by the man arrested today. His identity has not been revealed.

According to the Federal Police, the prisoner will answer for the crimes foreseen in articles 241-A for sharing and 241-B of the ECA for possessing the apprehended material. “If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison,” added the PF in a note. He added that the name of the operation “was inspired by Gabriel Arcanjo, considered by several religions as the protective angel of children”.
