Legislative Parliaments of Venezuela and South Africa They will establish a work agenda for the exchange of experiences, whose objective is to promote binational relations that cover fields such as agriculture, education, among others.
This decision was agreed on Monday after a meeting between the Venezuela-Venezuelan Parliamentary Friendship GroupSouth Africa of the National Assembly (AN), headed by its president, Carlos Mogollón, and the deputy of the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, Mándala Mandela, a meeting that took place in the Casa Amarilla “Antonio José de Sucre” in Caracas.
During the meeting, he referred a note from the Chancelleryit was agreed to advance a work agenda that would become “a platform to further promote binational ties in fields such as agriculture and education, among others, raising possible visits by parliamentary delegations.”
The meeting discussed the historic bilateral relations, as well as the eternal legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez and South African Father Nelson Mandela.
Thanks to Venezuela
The representative of the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, Mándala Mandela, thanked Venezuela for the invitation, as part of the commemoration of the 10 years of the planting of Commander Hugo Chávez.
He highlighted the vision of integration of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, who always urged to unite the peoples of the South.
Likewise, he highlighted the achievements of the Bolivarian Revolution project in achieving the inclusion of indigenous peoples.
Chávez’s legacy cannot be limited to America
For Deputy Mándala Mandela, “the legacy of Commander Chávez cannot be limited to the Latin American and Caribbean region, but must go beyond, since he inspired the oppressed peoples of the world.”
Given this statement, the president of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, Carlos Mogollón, stressed that “Commander Chávez created a multicentric and multipolar world, and always sought South-South union, particularly with the African peoples.”
In this sense, he specified that both peoples are united by their struggle and desire to be free and sovereign.
Relations with South Africa: strategic agreements
Venezuela and South Africa maintain solid economic cooperation, after the agreements signed at the Venezuela-South Africa Business Forum held in 2020.
The agreements are intended for strategic alliances in the commercial, mining, oil, agricultural and tourist areas.
At the beginning of February, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, held a meeting with the South African ambassador, Lindiwe Michelle Maseko, with whom he ratified the will to continue strengthening cooperation ties.
“Pleasant meeting with the Ambassador of South Africa Lindiwe Michelle Maseko. We ratify the will to continue strengthening our cooperation ties, with a view to continuing to move towards a strengthened route in favor of the development of agreements and strategic exchanges,” Gil said on the social network.
