10 years after the death of Chávez, Maduro calls to renew the "patriotic commitment"

In his speech, President Nicolás Maduro recounted some outstanding events since he came to power: anti-government protests, national constituent assembly, sanctions, attack, among others.

This Monday, March 6, in the continuation of the acts to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the death of Hugo Chávez, the president Nicolas Maduro asked the Venezuelan people to renew in Chávez “his spirit of patriotic commitment, his love for Venezuela and his revolutionary commitment (…) “We are not going to fail you (Chávez), we are not going to faint in any effort to move our country forward, whatever the cost whatever it takes,” he said.

From the patio of the Military Academy in Los Próceres, the Government held a ceremony called “Ecumenical Prayer and Parade of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB)”, where Maduro expressed that “thank God, thanks to life, thanks to the history for having put that man at the head of this country to free consciences and to start a long process of centuries of building a new socialist society of the 21st century”, he said.

In his account, Maduro spoke of the anti-government protests of 2014 and 2017 that left dozens dead and injured, he said that “a good part of their promoters are fugitives from justice fleeing around the world.”

Once again the president blamed the economic war for the fall of the economy, in which, according to him, the glues were invented and the products disappeared “because they had an objective: the 2015 parliamentary elections.”

He also recalled and repudiated the decree issued by the then president of the United States, Barack Obama, which describes his administration as an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to US security. March 1 was extended by Joe Biden.

He mentioned the extinct national constituent assembly (2017) in which “we managed to succeed through the political and constitutional path.”

“In 2018 it was the sanctions of the Donald Trump government and the economic crisis intensified as a result of the sanctions on oil and the entire economy. In the midst of these circumstances, the presidential elections were called, they threatened us that they were going to invade us if we held presidential elections, that they were going to blockade the country militarily and we stood up and said that in Venezuela there were going to be presidential elections rain or shine and that’s how it happened. that May 20, 2018.

He also recalled the alleged attack on August 4, 2018. “They tried to kill me with the failed drone attack where God put his hand and the beautiful Chinita put his hand to save my life and leave us here in front of the homeland.”

In Maduro’s opinion, the key they have learned, in these 24 years since the arrival of the revolution, is to always appeal to the people, trust the people and believe in popular strength.

On Sunday, March 5, the day Hugo Chavéz died (2013), both Maduro and part of his cabinet were present and held a ceremony in his memory where several former presidents of the region, allies of Chavismo, also participated. Cuban Raúl Castro, Manuel Zelaya (from Honduras), Rafael Correa (Ecuador), Evo Morales (from Bolivia) and its current president, Luis Arce. Daniel Ortega, president of Nicaragua, also.
