24-hour health strike for this Thursday; Doctors and workers want the ‘I don’t care’ to end

Santa Cruz is going on a 24-hour health strike, within the framework of an emergency due to dengue, hospitals at the three levels collapsed and the death of minors. This afternoon there was a meeting at the Committee for Santa Cruz, as far as the doctors went in search of someone to listen to their demands and to stop this ‘non-importance’, denounced Sergio Echazú, Secretary of the Federation of Unions of Medical Branches in Public Health (Fesirmes).

This confirmed the 24-hour strike in health centers of the first and second level, given that “the mayor was summoned for the third time” to show him the precariousness of health care, without success. He added that tomorrow, Tuesday, March 7, there will be another meeting with Lieutenant Governor Mario Aguilera and the president of the Departmental Legislative Assembly, Zvonko Matkovic, to seek solutions also for the third level of health, which has also collapsed. “Otherwise it will escalate in the pressure measurement.”
