The participation they had in the coup d’état carried out by former President Pedro Castillo was proven. The Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations (SAC) today approved a report that concludes that the former betssy chavez and the former ministers of Foreign Trade, Roberto Sánchez, and of the Interior, Willy Huerta, violated the Constitution and allegedly committed the crimes of rebellion and conspiracy.
The report approved with 17 votes in favor, two against and one abstention, concludes that on December 7, Congresswoman and former Prime Minister Betssy Chávez, former adviser Aníbal Torres and former President Pedro Castillo would have agreed to dissolve Congress and implement in Peru a state of exception.

After the message to the Nation given by Castillo, that December 7, Aníbal Torres and Betssy Chávez would have approached to greet Castillo. At that time, the report indicates, the former coup president was with the then Interior Minister, Willy Huerta. Later, the former Minister of Foreign Trade and current legislator, Roberto Sánchez, entered the office, who would have greeted him and said “for the country.”
But that is not all that happened, according to the document, because Willy Huerta would have communicated with the police commander so that he receives the order from Pedro Castillo to close the Congress.
The approved report will be reviewed by the Permanent Commission. If it is approved there, it will be sent to the Plenary Session of Congress for a vote.
In yesterday’s session, the green light was also given to a request by congresswoman Norma Yarrow so that current congressmen Betssy Chávez and Roberto Sánchez be suspended from their positions as legislators if the report is approved in plenary.
