The orthopedic doctor Edgard Zapata Arévalo is heading to the United States on a flight with the National Baseball Team, to participate in the World Classic, which will be held in the coming days in Miami, Florida.
This subject works as a doctor for the Nicaraguan National Baseball Team, but in 2018 he served as a paramilitary and a photo of him posing with an assault weapon circulated on his social networks AR-15, with a telescopic sight, which functions as a sniper rifle, according to the manufacturer’s description.
In the months of greatest bloody repression against the civilian population, Zapata Arévalo also took photos with well-known operators of the Sandinista dictatorship in different government institutions. By then, this subject was identified as an orthopedist at the Fernando Vélez Paiz Hospital. Article 66 failed to confirm whether he continues as a doctor in the public health system or if he is only dedicated to working with national baseball players.
The Sandinista paramilitary doctor took off at noon this Monday, March 6, from Managua on American Airlines flight AAL2592, and is expected to land at the Miami airport at 05:42 p.m. Eastern time in the United States.
Activists who are in the United States seek to put pressure on the US authorities to prevent the Sandinista paramilitary from entering this country or from being investigated at the time of landing for crimes committed in Nicaragua, including the illegal possession of restricted weapons.
