Offering a new project, Radio Usach began its new 2023 programming today, Monday, March 6.
In the words of Pablo Medel Quilodrán, director of the General Directorate of Communications and Usach Media, the university station is undergoing a renewal process, its main objective being to formulate a more direct proposal towards the public.
“Our purpose is to account for the pending issues in the country, giving value to the contents that matter to the population, emphasizing the delivery of information, background information and services that allow us to guide our auditors through the opinions of experts and academics from Usach”, emphasized Medel.
Regarding the target audience, the journalist pointed out that Radio Usach is opening up to a transversal scenario, targeting the citizen who wants to carry out transformations in the country and who perceived the social outbreak and the constituent process as precise moments to enter into the matter of the problems relevant to the people.
“The idea is not just to stay in the situation, in the contingency, but to move forward and expand a little more. Today we have multiple issues that are setting the tone, but not all of them are relevant to the public, so we want to focus on those that are significant,” she said.
The connection with the issues that matter to citizens is the central purpose of the new proposal. From the perspective of the processes that the radio is undergoing, in political terms, it points to a well-informed and high-minded debate, incorporating interviews that address current affairs in Chilean society.
“We propose spaces with issues of citizen importance such as transportation, public space, education, health, pensions and others, but always from the public eye, to contribute to the debate from a mass media of a public and state university ”, Medel maintained.

As of today, Radio Usach begins its new programming. From Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., journalist Rodrigo Alcaíno will bring all the information, debate, and opinion on issues that matter to Chilean society to your homes through the Enlace Usach program, broadcast jointly by the university station and STGO TV.
Continuing with this line, Panorámica led by the journalist Paulina Cortés, will join the informative day, giving a broad look at the news that marked the first half of the day. From Monday to Friday at 2:00 p.m., this space connects with the informative agenda for the afternoon.
Frecuencia Pública, with the journalist Daniela Figueroa, from Monday to Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., will continue with the informative analysis, through a citizen’s perspective on those issues that impact our environment and affect our lives: culture, health, education, economy, among others.
Culture will also have a space in the new programming. From Monday to Friday, at noon, Alma Nacional, conducted by Juan Rojas, will invite you to an encounter with Chilean music that covers, values and recreates the deepest sounds of our country.
Now Jazz will join this program with syncopated sound in a space that will show the creations of the artists who are part of the history of jazz and smooth jazz. From Monday to Sunday, at 8:00 p.m., Esteban Iturra drives.
Finally, and marking a milestone for the station, La Hora del Museo continues on the air, dedicating its space to the dissemination of culture. This alliance between the National Historical Museum and Radio Usach, in a program hosted by the journalist Luis Cruz, who from Monday to Friday at 9:00 p.m., will disseminate and analyze, together with prominent artists and intellectuals of our country, the current state of culture, history and national heritage.
