The Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) seized 300 tons of corn bulk game valued at $12 million that were trying to be exported to Uruguay irregularly.
It did so through the General Tax Directorate (DGI) of Rosario and the General Customs Directorate (DGA) of Hidrovía.
The total seized is equivalent to a load of eight trucks and it was the product of a control carried out in a tax warehouse located in the Santa Fe town of Pérez, according to AFIP.
According to the agency, “the exporting company that intended to ship the grains to Uruguay did not have the necessary financial capacity to justify their purchase, while it was unable to prove the acquisition or possession of the cargo that it was trying to market abroad.” .
The firm was not registered in the Single Registry of Operators of the Agroindustrial Chain (RUCA) in order to avoid reporting the bank accounts with which it operates based on its commercial activity and foreign exchange earnings, among other things.
