Ortega bills businessmen: Cancels the legal status of Cosep, Apen and Cadur

This Monday, March 6, the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo stripped the Superior Council of Private Enterprise (Cosep), the Chamber of Developers of Nicaragua (CADUR), and the Association of Producers and Exporters of Nicaragua of their legal status. (APEN) and 15 Non-Governmental Organizations more associated with the country’s business association.

Migob’s ministerial agreement 27-2023-OSFL, published in The Gazette no. 41, states that the 18 NGOs «did not complete the registration validation process; presenting inconsistencies in the information: 1. Unjustified variations in accounts, 2. Differences in balances without support in accounts, 3. They do not report details of income and expenses, with these actions these organizations do not promote transparency policies in the administration and management of your funds; Likewise, they have not reported financial statements for the fiscal period 2022.”

The resolution also indicates that “what refers to the liquidation of the goods and assets” of the eliminated organizations “the provisions of Law 1115 and its reform will be applied.”

In addition, the Ortega administration points out to the entities linked to the Nicaraguan private business association “not to promote transparency policies in the administration of funds.” «»

The organizations stripped of their legal status are the Nicaraguan Association of the Textile and Clothing Industry (ANITEC), the Chamber of Developers of Nicaragua (CADUR), the Nicaraguan Chamber of Construction, the Nicaraguan Chamber of Fisheries Association
