Ministro Chú Vásquez anuncia reforma a los bomberos

The Minister of the Interior and Police, Jesus Vasquez Martinez declared in Santo Domingo Este that 2023 is the year of the firefighters and that a reform will begin that includes the dignity of the lives of its members as in the National Police.

He said that he has a commitment to those organizations, and that with God’s help he will work for improvements and that their families feel proud that his father, a brother, an uncle serve the country from those entities.

He reported that, for these purposes, he had already spoken with Hector Rafael Risetpresident of the Board of Firefighters of the National District and later with the president Luis Abinaderand that he ordered an inventory to be made to find out their needs.

«We owe them too much and the time has come to recognize them with the dignity and encouragement of their work with better conditions. This year will be yours. They only remembered them when there was a fire, a tragedy,” he proclaimed.

He spoke during the act in which the City Council handed over the refurbished Fire Station X4in the Mandinga sector.
