In the cities of Encarnación and Hohenau, officials from the Ministry of Health carried out house-to-house visits and an update on the vaccination of one-year-old children.
The Ministry of Health reported that after the confirmed case of measles in the district of Hohenau, Itapúa, a community intervention was carried out, schedules of visits to the blocks adjacent to the confirmed case and suspected cases were established, and the regular vaccination scheme for boys and girls who did not have all the doses was completed.
In this sense, yese visited 4,455 houses in Encarnación, where 1,800 children were vaccinated. At Hohenau, the brigades reached 583 homes, where 459 minors were immunized. It is important to highlight that in both cities closed houses and rejection of vaccination were found.
On the other hand, they worked with the health services, evaluating the cases of consultations that could have occurred in recent months, monitoring probable cases.
