The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, started today the reconstruction of the Domingo Maíz highway and its interconnection to Punta Cana avenue, in the Verón municipal district, Punta Cana, at a cost of more than 184 million pesos.

In a press release, the ministry reported that the development of road infrastructure provides an essential basis for the economic and social development of the population, also generating attractiveness in areas with tourism potential.
The road reconstruction project is divided into two axes and will be executed through the Executing Committee of Infrastructures of Tourist Areas (Ceiztur), of the Ministry of Tourismto a total amount of 184,276,504.69 pesos.
The first axis consists of the adaptation of approximately 4.44 kilometers from Domingo Maíz street, from the Autovía del Coral, to the north, to the intersection of Boulevard Turístico del Este (Higüey-Miches highway).
While, the second will cover the adaptation of approximately 1.89 kilometers long from the interconnection of Domingo Maíz street with Punta Cana avenue, up to its interconnection with First street.
Once this intervention has been carried out, the drivers will take around 10 minutes to reach the Autovía del Coral, estimated the ministry.
