From March 6 to 10, the first payment of 2023 of the Conditional Monetary Transfer Programs (PTMC) will be made to 34,814 Panamanians who live in areas of difficult access, this after the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, will authorize the Ministry of Social Development (MIDES) to make this disbursement.
There will be 7,081,560 balboas that will be distributed among beneficiaries in vulnerable situations and in remote areas, thus fulfilling the commitment to cover their basic needs such as: access to food, medicines and basic necessities.
The Mides highlighted that under the modality of payments in areas of difficult access, the Red de Oportunidades program covers 17,737 citizens; 120 at 65 to 8,501; Guardian Angel to 753 and the SENAPAN Nutritional Food Bond assists 7,823 people.
On the other hand, a total of 157,894 Panamanians will receive their transfers by Clave Social Card, which will take place from March 13 to 24. In this modality, 49,269,990 balboas will be disbursed.
In the two payment modalities, difficult access and Clave Social Card, 192,708 Panamanians (as) will benefit, with an investment amounting to 56,351,550 balboas.
For the Minister of MIDES, María Inés Castillo, the payments of the PTMC reaffirm the commitment of the National Government to protect the most vulnerable populations and represent an economic injection for the country.
He added that these payments are framed within the 125 priority actions of the “Uniendo Fuerzas” Action Plan, which are part of the work agenda of President Cortizo Cohen.
Likewise, he reminded the beneficiaries that these conditional monetary transfers must be used exclusively to buy food, medicine and basic necessities.
