95.4% of teaching hours have already been assigned
The General Directorate of Secondary Education (DGES) works non-stop to ensure a good start to the 2023 school year.
In this sense, and as planned, it continues with the process of offering the vacant hours up to now. According to the advance to Wednesday, March 1 of this year, 95.4% of the hours throughout the country have been designated. The departments where the highest number of hours were assigned are Salto (98.47%), Paysandú (98.41%), Cerro Largo (98.10%), Tacuarembó (97.68%) and Maldonado (97.75%). ), while the lowest figures are found in Durazno (92.77%) and San José (93.45%). In Montevideo, 94.75% of the hours were assigned and in Canelones, 95.23%.
On the other hand, in February of this year, 37 new groups were created, which means an increase in the number of hours offered to teachers by a total of 6,665. It should be noted that in December 301,602 hours were offered and as of February 2023, with the creation of the new groups, the amount was increased to a total of 308,267 hours.
