The Cicpc captured the cousins Idel Gómez Rodríguez (28) and Carlos Antonio Thomas Gómez (49), for their alleged responsibility in the murder of Osmar Guillermo Marín Toledo (69).
The homicide occurred in a wooded area of the indigenous community of San Antonio de Roscio, located on the national highway, kilometer 35 of the Dalla Costa parish, Sifontes municipality (Tumeremo), Bolívar state.
The victim was approached by the cousins who presumed that the man had a dollar amount. They took him to the bush where they tied him up, beat him, and wounded him with a machete until he died. His body was dismembered.
At the time of their arrest, the cousins had the victim’s motorcycle, which was recovered by Cicpc officials.
The detainees were handed over to the 5th Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry.
