Petrobras informed, this Wednesday (1st), that it received a letter from the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) requesting the suspension of the sale of assets for 90 days, due to the reassessment of the National Energy Policy currently in progress and the establishment of new composition of the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE).
According to the note, the company’s governance rules and commitments assumed with government entities will be respected, “without putting Petrobras’ insurmountable interests at risk”.
“The Board of Directors will analyze the ongoing processes, from the perspective of civil law and within the governance rules, as well as any commitments already assumed, their punitive clauses and their consequences, so that the governance bodies assess potential legal and economic risks arising, observing the rules of secrecy and other applicable governing rules”, says the company’s statement.
