On the eve of the first anniversary since his arrival at La Moneda, President Gabriel Boric scheduled a new regional tour of the country. Now it will be the turn of the Tarapacá region, where an important military deployment has been carried out in recent days as a result of irregular migration.
The head of state will remain in the area for three days and, with the announcement, he will fulfill the promise he made at the beginning of his term to visit all the regions of the country before completing a year in power. It will be carried out to be on the ground and thus give a signal of decentralization.
In that instance, which took place in July of last year, the President stated that “I am not a person who stays locked up in palaces, who does not talk. I assure you that we are going to travel all over Chile, so that we can not only listen, but also give solutions”. “I am going to visit all the regions more than once during my tenure.”
The President’s journey began in April 2022, when he arrived in Coquimbo. Then, in May, he traveled to Punta Arenas to publicize the creation of a permanent policy for extreme zones.
