Exports to the European Union total more than US$58 billion in the last 10 years

A decade after the entry into force of the Trade Agreement between the European Union and Peru, the they have added shipments for US$58.397 million, according to what was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur)

This has implied that the positioning of several Peruvian products is improved.

The aforementioned information was reported in the framework of the virtual commemorative ceremony for the Tenth Anniversary of the Agreement, which was attended by the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Teresa Mera, and the Ambassador of the European Union in Peru, Gaspar Frontini.

THE MOST BENEFITED

the access facilities to the EU, thanks to the Trade Agreement, have allowed Peru to be located as one of its main suppliers of agricultural products.

In this way, our country has positioned itself as its first non-EU supplier of avocado, blueberry and asparagus; and second in fresh grapes.

Among the main goods exported to the European market is copper (11.4%), unroasted coffee (9%), fresh avocados (7%), zinc calcin (6.1%), and blueberries (5.5%).

“The Agreement has allowed us to deepen our commercial relationship, generating stability and predictability in the framework of bilateral relations. During these years, we have seen a diversification of the Peruvian export offer; and the entry of European investments into Peru has been facilitated”, said Ambassador Gaspar Frontini.
