An armed robbery that occurred at the “Vía Futuro” bus terminal in Chiguayante ended in tragedy for Óscar Sáez, a 70-year-old driver who lost his life after being shot by a group of criminals who tried to steal $30,000 pesos. .
The criminals would have tried to rob the administrative offices of the compound before entering a parked bus, where they found the presence of the driver, who was shot in the chest before fleeing.

The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, when a group of at least three criminals with covered faces entered the “Vía Futuro” bus terminal, located in Chiguayante, in the Biobío region.
According to preliminary information, the criminals tried to rob the administrative offices of the compound, but the drivers present resisted and the criminals fled.
Subsequently, the criminals entered a bus parked in the terminal, where they met the driver Óscar Sáez, 70, who was shot in the chest in the attempted robbery.
After the fact, the criminals fled while the driver was urgently transferred to the Leoneras Clinic, where he finally died.
The Homicide Brigade of the Investigative Police is carrying out the pertinent investigative tests in the Chiguayante terminal and in this context the Commissioner Miguel Carrillo Figueroa provided details of what happened.
When asked about the preliminary information, Carrillo explained: “During the afternoon, the local Concepción Prosecutor’s Office requested that we go to the Villa Futuro bus terminal in order to work on a site of the robbery with homicide event where a driver of this bus line was killed. taxibuses by action of a firearm”
He also indicated: “According to the first information that we have collected so far, three hooded individuals, at least one of them armed with a firearm, entered the premises in order to steal the collection of the minibuses that were inside the terminal. The victim, while trying to repel the robbery, was attacked by one of them, shooting him in the chest, and later died at Cesfam.”
