The National Organization Secretary of the Un Nuevo Tiempo (UNT) party, Ángelo Palmeri, celebrated that the parties consult their national and regional addresses to define their respective candidates for the primaries. He explained that the organization he represents, if it joins the process, would define its standard bearer through the National Federal Congress.

He asserted that the organization does not rule out presenting the current governor of Zulia, Manuel Rosales, as its candidate in the process.
In an interview with Unión Radio, he called it necessary to create objective and subjective political conditions so that candidates can compete. He insisted that the important thing for UNT is to build useful, viable primaries.
“It seems to us that the political moment, the interconnection between the different actors and factors make it necessary for the primaries to be the mechanism or the tool that helps us achieve the objective of achieving a single and unitary candidacy that are two different things that must complement each other” , said.
He described it as positive and correct that the political parties are consulting their national and regional leaderships, to give possible candidates greater legitimacy. He explained that Un Nuevo Tiempo has been in consultation in recent months.
Regarding an eventual presidential candidate, he indicated that UNT’s internal processes will seek to define the party’s position on participating or not. He stressed that although “the organization has a leadership capable enough to take on challenges,” he recognized that the main option at the national level is Manuel Rosales.
He said that the blue awning plans to make the decision on the candidate for the primaries, whether external or internal, through the National Federal Congress, which has representation from all the states through its delegates and leaders.
On the other hand, he pointed out that it is necessary to ensure that the citizens accompany the National Commission of Primaries and the parties in consolidation of the processes.
