Teenager dies after falling from roof while flying chichigua

A Teen of 16 years died after falling from ceiling of a house while flying chichigua along with a friend who also suffered serious injuries. The event occurred in the La Cuchilla sector, in the district of La Otra Banda, Higüey municipality.

According to the authorities, the victim is the son of Haitian Martha Esteien, 28 years old.

The acting legal doctor, Rebeca Castillo, certified that the adolescent died as a result of severe head trauma, multiple lacerations in the lower limbs. These injuries were received when he fell to the ground while trying to help his partner whose chichigua made contact with an electricity cable.

The wounded man, who is in intensive care from the Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia Maternal and Child Hospital, is the son of a man identified as Orlando Guevara Feliz.

The child presents electrical burns, severe head trauma and multiple lacerations, disorientation in time, space and person.a, as diagnosed by a doctor.
