The President of the Council of Ministers, Alberto Otárola, He assured the press this afternoon that President Dina Boluarte will testify before the Prosecutor’s Office for the deaths during the protests against her government.
Otárola announced that the declaration modality could be virtual or by receiving the National Prosecutor at the Government Palace and that Boluarte would soon be defining the form.

“President Boluarte has expressed the broadest collaboration with the National Prosecutor’s Office with the clarification of the facts and secondly I believe that all Peruvians and all institutions must defend what is called the institutionality of the presidency, which Madam President, you are coordinating respect for this institution and I understand that this declaration will be made in the coming days,” said the premier.
And he added: “What is being requested is that it be carried out in the Government Palace or virtually, it could give the statements accordingly or virtually, the Public Ministry will establish the appropriate date and will declare according to the conditions that establishes the law”.
As revealed Peru21the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, expected to question Boluarte last Thursday, but the night before, the president asked to reschedule the procedure and, in addition, required that it be virtual without any justification. That was the third time that the investigated ruler requested to set a new date for her demonstration.
In January, the president alleged in writing that she could not give her demonstration because she had pending activities.
For the second summons, according to the sources, Boluarte argued that due to the violent protests in downtown Lima it was risky for his safety to go to the tax office located on Abancay avenue.
