Starting in March, a new increase will be applied to the salaries of domestic workersas part of the joint agreement of the National Commission for Work in Private Homes that was signed last November.
The increase for workers in private homes it will be 4%; however, it will be reflected in the assets of April. In this way, the 24% salary update will be completed for the domestic workers which was authorized at the end of 2022.
Likewise, with the last increase the parity year March 2022/March 2023 will end, with a total increase in salaries for the domestic workers 119.8%.
The increase will be applied to each of the categories of domestic service and both for those who work for days or hours, as well as for those who perform tasks on a monthly basis.
It should be remembered that to calculate the salary, the number of hours worked, seniority (which corresponds to 1% of each year worked) and whether the tasks are carried out in the so-called unfavorable areas must be taken into account, since these workers receive 30 % additional.
Unfavorable areas include the provinces of La Pampa, Río Negro, Chubut, Neuquén, Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego, Antártida and Islas del Atlántico Sur, Partido de Patagones of the Province of Buenos Aires.
In addition to the March increase, workers at the sector they will receive other benefits, such as unemployment insurance, retirement benefits and social plans: this after they This was announced by the Government through Decree 90/2023, “in which various labor regulations are modified to expand the rights of workers in private homes”.
How are the salary scales by category
As of March, the salaries by category are:
- First category – Supervisor: $92,098.52 (with withdrawal) and $102,557.68 (without withdrawal).
- Second category – Personnel for specific tasks: $85,564.96 (with withdrawal) and $95,248.12 (without withdrawal).
- Third category – Homemade: $83,482.38.
- Fourth category – Assistance and care of people: $83,482.38 (with withdrawal) and $93,032.24 (without withdrawal).
- Fifth category- Personnel for general tasks: $75,074.56 (with withdrawal) and $83,482.38 (without withdrawal).
