The event has been experienced as one of the most lurid and macabre in Hong Kong history. Since last Tuesday, there was no news or signs of life from the Chinese ‘influencer’ and model Abby Choi, only 28 years old. In fact, she was last seen that day and The alarms went off when he did not go to pick up his children from the school where they study. And although many already predicted that the disappearance could end in tragedy, it was not until Saturday when the Police confirmed the news.

The young woman had been brutally murdered and dismembered. Several parts of her body were found. On the same Saturday, the Hong Kong Police already pointed out the main suspects. Among the four detainees was the victim’s husband, Alex Kwong, who was captured when he allegedly tried to flee by sea.

But as the hours go by, it seems that the case is getting closer to being solved. As reported by The Guardian newspaper, the Justice has decreed provisional detention without bail for his ex-husband, brother and parents. Those designated by the authorities have appeared before a court accused of murder and perverting the course of justice.

The court’s senior prosecutor, Brian Lai Tak-ki, has requested a 10-week postponement to continue with the investigation and thus be able to include the evidence seized at the address where the remains were found. And it is that the authorities have not stopped their work and, during this weekend, new parts have been found of the young woman’s body.

This same Sunday, a team of forensic pathologists identified a skull and several ribs inside a large pot with broth and vegetables. Police have already confirmed that the remains also belong to Abby Choi.

All this happened after on Saturday, a few days after warning of his disappearance, The Hong Kong authorities will find the first mortal remains of the young woman. In this case, investigators found the woman’s legs in a refrigerator in a house recently rented by her former father-in-law.

The first information already suggests that this individual could have been the mastermind of the operation. The young woman’s ex-father-in-law could have planned the murder and the reason would be none other than a dispute between the two over a property valued at millions of dollars.

Abby Choi had become one of the most recognized influencers in Hong Kong. With nearly 100,000 followers on Instagram, she came to participate in Elie Saab’s spring-summer 2023 haute couture show in Paris, as well as being the cover of the luxury magazine ‘L’Officiel Monaco’. As reported by some local media, the young woman had a heritage that could amount to 12.7 million US dollars, that is, about 12 million euros.
