"Mexico lost thousands of jobs"says Calderón before AMLO's response to Tesla

López Obrador reported this Monday morning that he will hold a teleconference with Musk, although he announced that the details of the conversation will be released this Tuesday.

“I have a call with the owner of Tesla and I want to be on time, it’s in a teleconference and I’ll talk to them tomorrow,” he said minutes before concluding his press conference.

The call between the president and the businessman was announced 10 days ago by Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard, who specified that the dialogue would be to confirm that Tesla will settle in Mexico, although he ruled out defining in which entity.

“In that call, this issue will be discussed and then we will know, but the important thing is that very soon we will have confirmation that this company, which is so important and is very close to the electromobility that we are promoting, has chosen Mexico to increase its presence in the coming years,” he said on February 17.

In Mexico, several entities have expressed their intention to be the headquarters of the Tesla company, including Jalisco, Nuevo Léon, the State of Mexico and Hidalgo.

The President of the Republic has advanced that the permits for the installation will be given to a state where there are no water problems.
