Technical education is experiencing a true revolution

The president of the Republic, Luis Abinaderhighlighted the impact of the National Institute for Professional Technical Training (infotep), forming the human capital that the country needs, highlighting that the technical education is experiencing a true revolution.

Abinader explained in his accountability speech before the National Assembly that your government, through infotephas brought training closer to people and companies, with 20 new training centers, which together with the 7 already existing, add up to a total of 27 own training centers.

Abinader He also highlighted that, in the year 2022, the infotepthrough the regional offices “has trained more than 782,000 people as assistants and, of these, almost 3,000 as technicians, of which 61% are already employed, and we have had 153,142 participants in vulnerable conditions.”

He also highlighted the training program for technicians who will be the workers in the Pedernales tourist destinationfrom which 1,500 young people from the South region have graduated and more than half are already being evaluated for work contracts by the companies that are developing this project.

Another achievement highlighted by the President Abinader In his speech, it was the impact that the training program for Dominicans abroad has had, which seeks to bring training to all Dominicans regardless of where they are and has been implemented in 42 cities around the world.

The new Infotep training centers

within those new spaces of formation mentioned by the president Abinader are:

  • He Josefa Brea Technological Centerin the National District
  • The Professional Technical Center 4.0 Alfredo Pérez Vargas, in the Monseñor Nouel province.

In addition, the Eastern Regional Directorate, in Santo Domingo East; the Pérez Technological Center, in Puerto Plata; the Cibao Sur Regional Office, in San Francisco de Macorís; and the Amber School, in Hato Mayor.

Eight new Community Training Centers in areas of vulnerable conditions located in Maimón, Guayacanes, Santiago Rodríguez, Tenares, Montellano Salcedo, Palo Verde, Monte Cristi, Las Galeras and Villa Mella.

In the same way, Training Centers were opened in Penitentiary Centers located in the public jail 15 Azua, Najayo Men’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center, Najayo Women’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center, La Victoria National Penitentiary, Rafey Correction and Rehabilitation Center, Monte Plata Correction and Rehabilitation Center.
