The Ministry of Health (Minsal) communicated this Monday a new report on the situation of Covid-19 in our country. In this regard, they indicated that during the last 24 hours, 1,588 new cases have been registered, of which 1,151 correspond to people with symptoms, 62 asymptomatic.
Regarding the diagnostic capacity of Covid-19, 8,967 tests were taken in the last 24 hours (antigens and PCR), marking a total of 48,430,725 tests so far in the pandemic in our country. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 9.67% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 9.25%.
According to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Antofagasta, O’Higgins, Magallanes and Los Lagos.
Meanwhile, the Aysén region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Los Ríos, Atacama, and Biobío.
Other figures
To date, 79 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 66 remain with mechanical ventilation support. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 325 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS), in the last 24 hours eight deaths were registered due to causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deaths amounts to 64,174 in the country.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 5,164,922. Of this total, 5,338 patients are in the active stage, considering a five-day isolation from the onset of symptoms or from taking the test, according to the Opening phase criteria. The recovered cases are 5,074,506.
