The Strategic Operational Command of the FAN (Ceofan) reported that three vessels used by illegal miners were destroyed in the Caroní river, Bolívar state.
Members of the National Armed Forces destroyed three vessels used for illegal mining in the south of the country, reported this Sunday, February 26, the operational strategic commander of the FAN, General in Chief Domingo Hernández Lárez.
The military high command announced the disabling of these vessels through its Twitter account, where it also published photographs of the operation, where the rafts can be seen, as well as other elements that are part of this “polluting logistics”, as he described it.
«It is a citizen duty to protect the environment. In the Caroní River, in the operation of its defense plans, the FANB disables three illegal mining rafts, along with their polluting logistics,” General Hernández Lárez wrote.
This action is added to several dozen operations that have been carried out in recent months against illegal mining in the southern regions of Venezuela, highlighted the agency efe.
Recently, The Operational Strategic Command of the National Armed Forces (Ceofan) reported the destruction of an illegal mining camp in La Paragua in Bolívar, as well as another camp and material allegedly used for illegal mining within the Yapacana National Park, in the Amazon state.
«FANB in El Caroni. It is a citizen’s duty to protect water resources from contamination, non-compliance causes damage to the future of the Homeland,” wrote the operational strategic commander of the FAN.
