social organizations Congregated in the Piquetera Unit, they blocked, at 10:00 in the morning, the intersection of 9 de Julio and Corrientes avenues in protest against the 160,000 casualties in the Potenciar Trabajo program, for which the march of the picketers affects traffic in the Obelisk area.
“There is an adjustment underway, which does not stop. That is why it is necessary to confront it, with the whole of the working class, in the streets and with common actions of struggle.” indicated the picketers through a press release.
While the movements insist on protesting against the government’s adjustment plan, the Minister of Social Development Victoria Tolosa Paz described their measure of force as “extortive”, which fueled the tension between the parties.
“Complaints against the Piquetera Unit and the Polo Obrero are raining for extortion, charging social quota to camp, requesting substitutes to march, compliance with the march as consideration,” said the minister.
In addition to the mobilizations in the Buenos Aires microcenter, there are also cuts in the Pueyrredón Bridge, which connects the Federal Capital with Avellaneda. There, protesters from Polo Obrero advance along Miter Avenue and make it impossible for vehicles to climb the bridge.
