According to the Prospecting study of the IT market in Peru, carried out by the Foreign Trade Promotion Office of Costa Rica (Procomer), it ranks as the fifth country in Latin America with greater demand for professionals in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), with a deficit of more than 17 thousand programmers per year.
Currently, the salary of technology professionals will continue to increase by more than 40% in the Peruvian market. In that sense, Coding Dojoan EdTech academy that has officially started its operations in Peru this 2023, points out that positions related to development Front End, Back End, Full Stack, Machine Learning and cloud computing, They are the ones who will see a greater increase not only in their salaries, but also in their job possibilities.
Likewise, it refers that in the country, there are four economic areas in which the demand for IT professionals will increase this 2023:
- Manufacture: This sector has been using each of the emerging technologies, such as: Cloud, DevOps, industrial IOT, AI, Big data. However, large and medium-sized companies still have a lot of infrastructure to implement, which is why they become a good place for IT professionals.
- Agriculture: This item requires drones to generate accurate measurements and results. Due to the climate, there is an increase in the demand for processes that improve productivity while decreasing the impact and dependence on the environment. For this reason, engineers in measurement and data collection technologies, as well as experts in drone management, find here a powerful field of work to develop.
- Transport: Many people are aware that there is a global supply network, so the need to implement processes that increase efficiency has never been greater. Automation, Artificial Intelligence, satellite information, among others, are used to create routes for all types of transport in order to avoid congestion and improve the user experience. This suggests that this industry will have greater growth in terms of hiring IT professionals.

“The pandemic accelerated, in general, the automation processes in all areas. Studying an IT career undoubtedly brings many benefits. In addition, thanks to the trend of the remote work modality, in the IT sector, the only barrier to working in any Latin American country or technological giants, is only the language”, refers Sebastián Espinosa, executive director of Latin America at Coding Dojo.
“In the United States, more than 70% of employers are having difficulties finding the talent they need. Thus, currently and in the future, countries such as the US, the Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland), Australia and Canada, will be forced to look for IT professionals in other countries under the remote or face-to-face modality.”adds Espinosa.
Currently, to fill this gap, there are alternatives to universities, which train professionals in a short time, through intensive programs called bootcampssuch as Coding Dojo, a programming academy with a presence in more than 25 countries globally and which, in Latin America, has 98% of graduate students employed in IT fields.
“The salaries of our graduates who are just beginning a career in the technological world start at USD 1,300, and those who already have a maximum of two years of experience have been receiving up to USD 2,500”, Espinosa ends.
