Municipality says it is 'collapsed' of donations

It is the Unified Command Post from where the organizations can coordinate the necessary aid.

“We want to tell you that right now we don’t need donations, no contributions. We are collapsed”, said Santiago Guarderas, mayor of Quitomentioning that they have “the groceries and sufficient elements to be able to serve the area” of the alluvium that affected the residents of La Comuna and La Gasca.

Guarderas indicated that in case of having aid, citizens channel it through the Unified Command Post, installed in the Faculty of Philosophy of the Central University of Ecuador. The opening hours will be from 06:30 to 08:30.

“Right now there are many people who, instead of collaborating, are interfering with the rescue and cleanup efforts (…); the only way to overcome this tragedy is with order and coordination”, said the Mayor.

Yes OK groceries and water are the items that are delivered the most, the collection centers have detailed that diapers or sanitary pads are elements that are missing.
