Battle of the Bridges

On February 23, 2019, one month after the self-proclamation of Juan Guaidó as “interim president” of Venezuela, with immediate support from the United States and its international allies, the most radical sectors of the opposition generated serious sources of violence in the state. tachira

The delivery of the supposed humanitarian assistance, collected in Cúcuta, was denounced by the Caracas authorities as a screen to cover up a intervention military in Venezuelan territory.

As a prelude, on the 22nd, the Venezuela Aid Live concert was held in the border city of Cúcuta (Colombia), organized by tycoon Richard Branson, a media show to disguise true intentions.

The objective was to control the region and once inside the country, with the support of irregular foreign forces, mercenaries and paramilitaries, generate false flag events to legitimize a large-scale operation by an “international coalition” and detonate the alleged treason in the Bolivarian National Armed Force.

The Bolivarian Executive then denounced the complicity of the Army and the Colombian police forces, by neglecting control on their side of the border, in addition to blaming the neighboring country’s president, Iván Duque, and the self-proclaimed Juan Guaidó for the sources of violence.

The plan was orchestrated by sectors of the Venezuelan right, the US empire led at that time by Donald Trump and the presidents Sebastián Piñera for Chile, Iván Duque for Colombia and Mario Abdo Benítez for Paraguay.

In the heat of those events, the Government of Venezuela decided to break diplomatic relations with Colombia, in view of “the systematic acts of aggression under the tutelage of the United States,” according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.

Despite these events, the Venezuelan people together with the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, in a perfect civil-military union, defended the peace and sovereignty of the country, defeating the conspiracy and invasion plans.
