The National Agrifood Health and Quality Service (Senasa) confirmed three new cases of avian influenza H5 in backyard (turkey and chicken) and wild (duck and redfish) birds located in the lagoon La Segovia, Puán, province of Buenos Aires; Del Campillo, Cordoba; and Zapala, Neuquen.
This was determined by the laboratory analyzes carried out by Senasa on samples sent by the Córdoba and Buenos Aires Sur regional centers of the health agency from Puán and Del Campillo; that They are added to the one confirmed earlier in Neuquén.
This Wednesday, Senasa had also confirmed the occurrence of a case in a backyard bird, in Zapala: In samples taken at two coots found dead in White Lagoon, to 38 kilometers from the city of Neuquén, one of them tested positive for the presence of the disease.
The samples were taken by the agents of the North Patagonia Regional Center from Senasa, Martín Cavallari and Luciano Mammoni, who went to the area after a notification made by park rangers of the Laguna Blanca National Park.
In this way, of the more than 100 notifications received by Senasa so far, There are nine confirmed cases in wild and backyard birds (five in Córdoba, one in Salta, one in Santa Fe, one in Jujuy and one in Neuquén).
Senasa works in asanitary and raking actions in the region where the findings were made, as well as in Cordoba, Jujuy, Salta, and Santa Fe, while in Entre Ríos strengthened border controlsa, due to the occurrence of a case of disease in Uruguay.
The health agency urges the productive sector to reinforce management, hygiene and biosecurity measures of their poultry farms and that they immediately notify you of any detection of nervous, digestive or respiratory clinical signs, decrease in egg production, in water or feed consumption and high mortality in domestic or wild birds.
Also remember to take all preventive measures and not handle the birds when these clinical pictures are detected.
