Caraceño reported as missing was found dead in a ravine

The body of a young man whose relatives had reported missing eleven days ago in La Paz, Carazo, was found in a state of decomposition at the bottom of a ravine.

The finding was denounced by a local who was looking for firewood. The putrid smell caught his attention and led him to discover the remains of the young man, who was identified as 25-year-old Kenny Alberto Acuña.

Since February 11, Acuña was reported by his relatives as missing at the police station in this municipality, but seeing that there was no news of his whereabouts, they made the decision to publish their search on social networks.

At the end of this Sunday afternoon, his remains were found in the place known as Loma de Caballo ravine, located in the Los Angeles community, San Bernardino. His relatives were notified and came to recognize him.

Kenny Acuña’s body was found in a state of decomposition at the bottom of a ravine.

Terrible news

A forensic doctor, accompanied by police investigators, reviewed the area and recommended his immediate burial in the same place, due to the advanced state of decomposition of the body.

“This is terrible news, it baffles us,” said a relative. He explained that they found out his whereabouts a few days after reporting him missing. He told that the young man left the house to walk, because he said that he was bored.

“He had been admitted to the hospital, but he was fine, he had recovered and looked better, but since that day, he has not returned home,” said the relative.

Did they look for him in that place?

They had searched for Kenny Acuña in various places in the municipality, since he never used to leave for days like this time happened. The young man lived with his maternal grandmother, reasons that led to the desperate search for him after eleven days missing.

The strange thing for his family is that several locals supported looking for him in the ravines, including Loma de Caballo, but they had not found any trace of the young man from Caracas, until this Sunday.

“The police are investigating, although they say that forensics did not find evidence of a criminal hand, we continue to be concerned about how it appeared in the place where we had already searched. Did they leave it there?” they wondered.

The event keeps the inhabitants of the place concerned. “Here we are in anxiety because we don’t know if there was a criminal hand, if someone hurt the boy,” a neighbor warned.

The relatives asked the authorities to thoroughly investigate what could have happened to Acuña. «Kenny did not use to travel through the ravines due to his illness. It was strange to find it there,” they said.
