In Nuevo León, beef production increased 41% compared to 2018

This generates jobs and has triggered business opportunities for companies and entrepreneurs in the food industry, he said.

The state of Nuevo León stands out with a growing meat production and leads the country in the number of high-quality processing plants or establishments Federal Inspection Typel (TIF), highlighted the leader.

There are 75 TIF plants in the entity, followed by the State of Mexico with 60; Mexico City with 51; Jalisco with 39; and Guanajuato with 22. In this type of plants, beef, pork and chicken are slaughtered and processed with all the health requirements of the Official Mexican and International Standards, and they are the only ones eligible to export this type of product.

In poultry meat (chicken), González Peraza pointed out, production in the state grew to 72,686 tons in 2021, 6% more than in 2018, and had continued to grow annually, except in 2022 when it decreased 4 percent.

In it agri-food GDP (a concept that groups livestock and agricultural primary production, as well as food processing companies), Nuevo León ranks sixth nationwide, with 74,736.6 million pesos, below Jalisco, which is the leader with 184,031.8 million pesos. pesos, and the State of Mexico, Veracruz, Mexico City and Guanajuato.

In the Meat and Dairy Expo 2023, around 400 exhibiting companies from more than 20 countries participate and with a capacity of 8,000 visitors, after 4 years of not holding the event in person due to the pandemic.
