They distribute mosquito nets and hammocks in East Panama to fight malaria

With the objective of reducing the risk of malaria cases in East Panama, the Ministry of Health delivered and installed mosquito nets in the most vulnerable communities in this sector of the country.

The authorities distributed 217 bed nets and 93 hammock nets for a total of 310.

The beneficiary communities were Wacuco, Río Rubén, Igarwala and Tortí Medio abajo.

Regarding malaria cases, at the national level, 1,294 cases of malaria have been confirmed, with the Guna Yala region, Darién, Ngäbe Buglé region and Panama East being the sectors with the most confirmed cases to date.
