Four days after the shootings that occurred in two commercial premises in Maracaibo, in which a man died and seven other people were injured, the authorities have not offered concrete results of the apprehension of those involved in these violent acts. So far, only the arrest of an alleged member of the criminal gang of “el Yiyi” is known, a criminal group dedicated to committing extortion, attacks and other crimes, although the link of this group with the attacks is not specified.


Four days have elapsed since the attacks against two commercial establishments in Maracaibo (Zulia state) were recorded, where one person died and seven others were injured. Over the weekend, the authorities began a search operation for those responsible for the shootings, led by the national director of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (CICPC), douglas ricowho moved to the entity.

However, the only concrete result that is known so far is the arrest of a man identified as Nerio Enrique Barrios Colina (27 years old), which occurred on Monday, February 20 in the La Polar sector, Domitila Flores parish in the San Francisco municipality.

Barrios is accused of being part of the criminal gang of alias “el Yiyi”, a criminal organization that commits extortion, attacks, homicides, robberies, thefts and other crimes that plague the population. However, in his post, Douglas Rico did not link the detainee to the attacks that occurred in Maracaibo.

In his publication, the director of the scientific police explained that Barrios Colina “was in charge of channeling the logistics” and delivering it to the rest of the gang members, to carry out the violent attacks against commercial establishments and homes of the victims who did not pay the price. amount demanded by the ringleader, a man identified as Guillermo Rafael Boscán Bracho, nicknamed “el Yiyi”.

For their part, on the Instagram account of the Cicpc Zulia State Delegation, officials reported that they are searching for the individuals who participated in the terrorist attack against the Samba Latino supermarket. The publication shows a series of images captured by the establishment’s security cameras where the individuals responsible for the attack are observed.

Authorities do not know details of the investigation.

Intelligence work is well under way and the perpetrators will be caught. They will be punished.” However, he also did not provide details about the investigation.
