The 24-year-old police officer was shot in the head when he was in civilian clothes and without his weapon

The police arrested the alleged murderer of the 24-year-old agent who died at midnight Tuesday in Vista Lindadepartment of Canelones, reported from the departmental headquarters.
The man will testify in the next few hours before the prosecutor of the case, Alejandro Sastre, from the Las Piedras 3rd Shift Prosecutor’s Office.
At midnight this Tuesday, a 911 call reported that there was a person wounded by a gunshot on José García Barrosa streets, Guardado corner, within the jurisdiction of section 30. When the police arrived they found a man lying on a motorcycle with a shot to the head.
The 24-year-old man was taken to the Las Piedras hospital, where he at 00:15 his death was confirmed.
It was a policeman who worked in sectional 19 of Montevideo. When he was attacked, he was in civilian clothes and did not carry his firearm.. The policeman fulfilled his duties unarmed, due to a provision that was made about him.
