1-0: The title is difficult for Flamengo

1-0: The title is difficult for Flamengo

Argentine defender Mateo Carabajal scored the goal that determined the 1-0 win for Valley Independent about him flamencofrom Brazil, in the first leg of the South American Cup Winners’ Cupplayed this Tuesday in the Chillos valley, near the Ecuadorian capital, Quito.

The match was tight due to Flamengo’s defensive and counterattacking proposal, against an opponent who, based on insistence, effort and willingness to win, achieved their goal in the 68th minute.

Independiente del Valle had goalkeeper Moisés Ramírez as the savior of the first half, as he won decisive duels against David Luiz, Ayrton and Gabriel Barbosa.

At the end of the first half, from a free kick taken by Giorgian De Arrascaeta the ball escaped Ramírez, but he was assisted by Beder Caicedo, who prevented the clear arrival of Luiz to conclude the action.

Actions that reflected how dangerous the visitor was who, with fewer attacks, brought more danger to the opposite goal, taking advantage of the spaces he found in the defense and making use of the accuracy of the long-distance passes in search of Gabriel Barbosa and Pedro.

The proposals of the first half were repeated from the resumption of the game, with a Flamengo that waited in order, moved the ball precisely to prevent the local team from getting closer with clarity and precision.
