A group of armed subjects activated their firearms, hitting several people who were at carnival parties, an event that occurred at midnight on Saturday in Río Caribe, Sucre state, according to police sources.
The deceased were identified as Alexander Manuel Guillarte Rivero (25) who was hit by the side of the neck; Enrique Caraballo (36), injured in the thoracic region; Jesús Guillermo Jaure (75), who was injured in the left lumbar fossa, says the report. A fourth fatality is a woman whose identity is under verification.
These people were celebrating the carnival in the El Morro sector, in the Arismendi municipality (Sucre), when several detonations were heard. Neighbors provided first aid for the transfer of the injured, who entered the Rio Caribe hospital without vital signs.
A Cicpc commission went to the scene to start the investigation.
