At the Simón Bolívar International Airport, which serves Caracas from the state of La Guaira, the Bolivarian Government was welcomed by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Tatiana Pugh Moreno, and the Venezuelan ambassador to Damascus , José Gregorio Biomorgi, together with Wael Deirki, Plenipotentiary Minister of the Syrian Embassy in Venezuela, reviewed the Foreign Ministry.

The brigade of experts in rescue and search for victims in disaster situations arrived in Damascus at dawn on February 9 and were deployed in the city of Latakia, one of those affected by the powerful 7.8 earthquake and the subsequent aftershock, nine hours later, 7.5 degrees, which collapsed hundreds of buildings, with thousands of deaths and injuries, and material damage.

This Humanitarian Task Force team was made up of fire brigades and a canine rescue brigade. Venezuela also sent Syria, both nations subjected to criminal unilateral coercive measures by Western imperialism, a shipment of more than 15 tons of medicines and food.

Recently, the ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Kenan Zaher Al Deen, delivered a letter of gratitude to the Foreign Ministry for the solidarity received from the Government of President Nicolás Maduro in the face of the tragedy caused by the earthquakes.
