SAN CRISTOBAL. A merchant and an alleged assailant were shot dead during an alleged robbery attempt at the SM Inversiones rent-a-car, in Ensanche Constitución, in the Madre Vieja Sur sector of this city, according to preliminary reports.
Mr. Rafael Montero Campusano, uncle of the murdered merchant Jean Carlos Serrano, ruled out that it was a robbery and attributed the crime of his relative to an act of hit men.
The alleged dead assailant was identified as Miky Esmerlin Morbán de la Cruz, 18 years old.
According to versions of witnesses and residents of the place, the event occurred after 4:00 in the afternoon, when three young people on a motorcycle appeared at the car rental agency located on Gregorio Luperón street in the Ensanche Constitución and allegedly without saying a word. they started shooting at Serrano, who was sitting in a chair.
In the alleged assault attempt, one of the three youths would have shot and killed one of their companions, according to videos captured by the security camera.
In the videos that circulate on social networks, it can be seen when two of the three young people try to help their injured companion on board a motorcycle, but it was impossible, leaving him abandoned on the pavement, dying minutes later.
Neighbors of the Ensanche Constitución reported that only a month ago Serrano set up his “rent-car” business on Gregorio Luperón street, with the help of his father who lives in the United States.
On his side, Rafael Montero Campusano, Serrano’s uncle, assured that the murder of his nephew was the work of a hitman, although he did not reveal the reasons for such a statement.
