The director in charge of the Land Transit and Transportation Authority (ATTT), Carlos Ordonez, addressed this Thursday the issue of extensions of expired licenses and license plates.

He explained that, since March 2020, when the pandemic began, the ATTT to avoid contagion, the entity has extended every end of the month in the validity of the licenses.

He indicated that at this time an extension has been granted until February 28 for the validity of expired licenses and for the suspension of the application of sanctions for those with a contempt order and for those circulating with expired license plates.

In the case of driver’s licenses, it will apply to those with an expiration date in the months of January and February 2022.

However, on the issue of expired license plates, the measure is aimed at those vehicles whose license plates have expired in November and December 2021 and in January 2022.

Ordoñez stressed that the provisional suspension of the application of the contempt sanction is applied to avoid inconveniences that may arise as a result of the retention of the license or the vehicle.
